The central idea of my concentration is an abstraction of landscapes towards shapes and colors.
My first and second images were simple images I took and then painted; i wanted to make the images more my own so in my next two images, the city and the power lines, I experimented in two directions. I chose to continue to turn my next paintings into blocks. My fifth image, the RV, was when i began to mix the more realistic painting of my first and second pieces with the cubism of my third piece. From that point on I blocked only part of my paintings, providing a unique take on landscapes.

I have been continuing my concentration of landscapes and playing with making them part blocky and part realistic. I like the look of this because it is unusual and I can focus on the color and shape in one part and then emphasize texture in clouds or water.
My last piece was frustrating because I tried playing with inverting the picture and changing its colors of the same picture three times. In theory this idea was good and it should have looked nice but I had a really hard time with the inverted one. It looked disconnected and unfinished in my opinion.
My next piece I plan on doing bigger because my pieces are all fairly small. What I can't decide is if I want to paint something similar to my bridge picture (top) which seems to be the favorite or if I want to continue with simple landscapes (bottom). I'm worried if i paint something with a man-made element it won't fit with my concentration of landscapes because it has an emphasis on the human part.
